26/01/2011 One of our projects featured in The Telegraph!
We supplied a heat recovery ventilation system (MVHR) to one of the UK's most unusual properties. Known as the balancing barn, this unsual property has recently been named in The Telegraph in an article called "Building a home the green way".
We are so happy to see this property getting so much coverage and very proud to say we helped it achieve energy efficiency levels 20% higher than current regulations. To find out more about how our heat recovery system helped achieve this read our case study.
17/01/2012 Self Build mortgage market to increase by 141% by 2015
According to Datamonitor over the next 3 years mortgage advances are set to grow by 141%. This increase is said to be from a combination of media coverage, the governments new proposals for the sector and the perceived low quality of many new build homes.
At the moment self build accounts for a marginal amount of mortgage lending but according to the report the sector could account for more than 1% of all lending by 2015.
Buildstore have commented that self build is appealing to homeowners, mortgage lenders and the government. They added that self build is an affordable option, which gives you control over the specifications and design of your home, in the future it should become a mainstream option.
Self build is definitely the way to go if you are finding it difficult to find your dream home and you'd like to express your individuality.
