8/2/2013 - PM pledges commitment to green economy.

His words have inspired confidence in other business leaders too. John Alker, Director of Policy and Communications at the UK Green Building Council, said: "We shouldn't underestimate the importance of the prime minister nailing his colours to the mast on energy efficiency, which is hugely welcome. It gives industry more confidence that the government does take this issue seriously, which is urgently needed if businesses are going to invest and innovate. Now Cameron needs to stand up to those in government who simply don't 'get it' and follow up the rhetoric with delivery."

19/01/13 – Ventilation comparison

We have a customer in South Wales with two lovely holiday cottages that had our heat recovery ventilation systems installed during their conversion from agricultural buildings. Lucy Weiss, the owner, has recently emailed us with an update on how the systems are performing. We thought this was a very interesting comparison of different types of ventilation so we’ve quoted her email below:

“It’s now winter and both cottages are in use and are incredibly warm; all the guests comment on it. The cottages have continued to smell particularly fresh and I blast them with the boost every time I clean.

“The most interesting thing is that there is no condensation build up anywhere. The heat recovery is my only form of moisture extraction anywhere in both cottages. In my own house, next door, with conventional extractor fans in all wet areas, but with windows with trickle vents, we have moisture build up on most windows and particularly badly in our bathrooms causing black mould. It’s a direct comparison because we have all the same specs in our house as the holiday cottages except the heat recovery.

“The only thing I have noticed which is different about the cottage buildings post completion compared to my house post completion, is the settlement cracks have appeared much sooner, i.e. corners of rooms, joints between plaster boards and between plaster and wood components etc... This I would normally expect to see after a couple of years, but in the cottages they are apparent already. They are easily fixed with decorators’ caulk or silicon sealant though.” [We suggest this is due to the efficient removal of excess moisture from the air inside the cottages which has accelerated the drying out process normal with new plasterwork.]

If you’d like to experience heat recovery ventilation yourself, why not book a break at Lucy’s lovely cottages near beautiful Colwyn Bay? Her website address is www.snowdoniamountaincottages.co.uk or you can call her on 01492 650094.

08/01/2012 - See us on Channel 4 this month...

Happy New Year to you all!

The holidays are over and we're looking forward to a bright and exciting start to 2013. We have lots of things planned for this year, with seven exhibitions to attend, a new starter joining us this week, and a management buy out, allowing our Chris Marriott a little more time with his little grandson. But firstly, we're going to be on the telly!

We have been delighted to have been involved in Mark and Pat Rand's labour of love, The Settle Station Water Tower renovation. Featured on The Restoration Man, presenter George Clarke, returns for a follow up programme on:

Thursday 31st January -  9pm to 10pm  -  Channel 4   'Restoration Man'

Built in 1878, this water tower served the trains that travelled along the 72 mile Settle-Carlisle line. Running through the Yorkshire Dales, this line formed part of the Midland Railway's route from London to Scotland. Whilst now the only remaining tower on the line, it once had the capacity to hold 43,000 gallons of water and could serve eight large steam trains without needing to be refilled.

Even though steam trains no longer dominate the line, Mark and Pat are determined to save and convert Settle Water Tower; a fantastic relic from the age of steam.

Mark and Pat settled on ADM Systems' heat recovery ventilation products when they designed their home because we offered a bespoke package of components, ducting and unit to suit their very unusual property, that were sourced from a range of manufacturers.

Our independence and engineering skills make us the ideal choice for both restoration and new build installations. Our team were with Mark and Pat every step of the way to provide expert advice and support, and ongoing maintenance. We congratulate the Rands on their outstanding project, and look forward to watching later this month.

If you are working on a restoration project, or new build property, and think that heat recovery ventilation could be of interest, please send us your plans for a no-obligation quotation.

20/12/2012 - Merry Christmas Merry Christmas from ADM Systems!

This year we have selected two charities that are close to our hearts and, instead of sending cards, we have made donations to both of these excellent organisations. Lymphoma Association The Raynaud's & Scleroderma Association, and the Lymphoma Association provide support, care and counselling for sufferers and their families.

Please make a note of our Christmas holidays - we are closed from 22nd December to 2nd January 2013. Please contact us regarding any revised delivery schedules.

May we wish you an excellent Christmas, and all prosperity and good wishes for the coming year! Seasons Greetings!
